ph. by Mario Testino
June presented a rockin' VOGUE; surf, sand, sufers, perfect surfer hair, the richest and most delectible of beach tans...and most of all, one of my main inspirations - Blake Lively. This month took a complete 90 degree turn. A turn towards an anonymous musicisan, muse to Dior Couture, and all-around classic French beauty: Marion Cotillard.
I have only had the chance to see her work in NINE, (with Kate Hudson and every other bloody celebrity under the sun...), yet I was definitely most impressed with Cotillard. I walked away from my rickety theatre seat knowing that she was my favorite character of the film - the star I felt the best on-screen connection with. I was totally amazed to find that she's also a musician in an Expressionist-Surrealist band called Yodelice. She plays the bass, keyboard, and tambourine in men's clothes and under a moniker of 'Simone'. How cool is that?!
She continues to intrigue me, I'm definitely going to have to try to catch more of her work...for now, these pictures are gorgeous. Testino is BOSS.
