cinammon and sugar, every morning is saturday morning

My dad got home pretty last last night after work; so late that he went straight to sleep without dinner. THAT, I'm not sure if I could do. I'm a total night-owl...love to dance, make little craft projects, and (to my family's great annoyance), get on the treadmill at 9:45 pm.

Ehh...that's just my schedule. Sorry fam.

BUT, I did make some cinnamon toast today for his breakfast. Simple simple, yet soooo good. Just grabbed some leftover whole wheat rolls from last nights dinner, smeared on a little margarine, and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Pop em' in then, and your house will smell good all morning.

Easy as that. :)

absolutely lively

OK - It may seem that I'm gettin' lazy with my outfit-posting and simply relying on the editorials of favorite mags to get me through the blog post. Well...only half true. :)  My outfits have been mostly cardigans, scarves, and the occasional tights with denim cutoffs and boots, (THE RAIN STILL SUCKS.)   Bad hair days are everywhere! Ugh!

And as I said, half true, because the recent editorials are just totally out of this world and I MUST post them! Is that cheesy? Out of this world? Home runs? Total scores?     Well take a look for yourself; Blake Lively in May's  VOGUE was amazing. She got to shoot with a hot surfer too...not a bad deal...not bad at all.

So..in summary, if I wasn't already jealous of her for her AMAZING fashion-filled role as Serena on GG, her GORGEOUS blonde hair (I'm trying to grow mine out), or her CUTE boyfriend Penn Bagdley, I'm so jealous of her now. She got the cute surfer. Damn her.

(But only in a gooood way! Yay for Blake!)

oceans from the rain

It rained again today...this mystical thing that IS weather just totally craps on my parade and laughs about it. I'm positive of that. I can hear the laughter it seems.

Other than that, the year truly seems to be wrapping up quickly. ISN'T THAT WEIRD?! I'm weirded out; not only by the fact that Nick will be graduating in a few weeks, but also by the fact that I'm a year closer to graduation.

Official Count:
4 Days until Nick leaves for Hawaii
9 Days until my 10-page paper is due (.....shit....)
10 Days until Nick becomes an alumnis of Oakesdale High School
(alumnis? alumni? wait - yeah...alumnis...that was right...)
10 Days until my first parade as Queen...
23 Days until my last day at SCC for this year

Wow.

In lighter news, MY SISTER GOT A BLOG! (hell yeah - high five, sis!) Sorry for the cursing all of a sudden; it must be a side-effect of getting so excited-nervous-antsy-angsty-stressed-liberated-everything.
Check out my favorite big sista's site, Utterly Negligent.
(btw - she's my only big sister...I'm not playing favorites here...but she would probably still be
my fave even if I DID have others...she gets me)

Wearing: Grey tunic-tank/Old Navy. Beanie/Vintage, altered myself.

miu miu and amanda

I'm absolutely and positively in LOVE and hankering on an OBSESSION with this TeenVogue editorial with Letters to Juliet's Amanda Seyfried.  Miu Miu platforms? Peter Som shortie shorts? Adorable Samantha Pleet bathing beauty? There isn't a single shot that I didn't love...

And lemme' tell you, I'm TOTALLY excited to rock a cute summer dress with a utilitarian shirt cutsie-tied at the top, a la' Amanda Seyfried.

Bombshell. Total frickin' bombshell.

nutella sunrise

                                                                                             photos by Nick

Marvelous marvelous day today, definitely marvy.

Full of sunshine, brisk breeze, and endless 'senior' junk. My Junior class is now quickly becoming slaves to the Seniors; decorating for their graduation, glittering their nametags, everything. Remember those days, when we think, "Hey! Can't wait to be a Senior! Can't wait to be outta' high school!"....Well...seeing those Seniors today, a bit stressed, even a bit nervous for what lies ahead, really makes me like where I am.

At least for now. Time changes everything.

Plus, its going to be odd to imagine myself in a school where running around barefoot is somewhat frowned upon....

Wearing: Denim shirt/my papa's. Brown belt/Vintage. Blue mini-dress/Forever21. Black gladiator sandals/Rampage. Tooth Necklace/Made by myself. Gold chain/MK & Ashley for Claire's. Leggings/Dollar store.

jason mraz hat

What a day, what a day, what a day....

Pip pip!  Yesterday was a half-day at schooooool; one of those nifty days when you get to skip out on half of the day while the teachers sit through meetings and instructional videos on how to improve their instruction.

Ironic, just a bit? ...Yes, I believe so...

Nick and some friends and I decided to kill the day by shopping aimlessly, tossing a super bouncy ball the length of the mall, (and sending one of us to frantically chase after it), and just generally wasting time. BUT, the trip DID yield a cool Kermit the Frog tee!

(Which I will be promptly altering into a dress...because they only had large and extra-large)....but it should work with some flats and leggings.

Am I the only one who thinks this hat looks kina like Jason Mraz? ... :)

Wearing: Straw fedora. White v-neck tee. Jeans/Paris Blues. Friendship bracelet/myself. That's about it...very simple outfit..

after a hiatus...or something like that

HOLY COW. I HAVE MISSED YOU. SERIOUSLY MISSED YOU ALL! Like a little baby! Its so strange going from being able to blog at least a few times a week, and down to maybe once every two weeks. Ugh. I do NOT like that feeling.

I really don't want to blame my absence on school, work, or being "too busy"...but...bring on the lameness, I really was. Isn't that lame? Yeah. How many times can I say 'lame' within a paragraph...that's lame too...

I guess I should explain. I was at a beauty pageant for the past three weeks. (Not what you expected, right?..)   Ok, not AT a pageant, IN one. Our high school does an official pageant that decides high school royalty for the year; including summer parades, festivals, and lots of extra crown-wearing for any reason.

And I won. I WON. This is still crazy to me, and it hasn't sunk in fully yet, but...I'm jazzed! For lack of a word that fully captures this...this...feeling. :) LOVE IT.  Love my two princesses too, Abby and Amanda. <3 Much love, ladies. We've got a slammin summer ahead of us...:) Thanks to everyone!

Wearing: Top/sister's closet, many moons ago. Skirt/Made myself, Belt/Broken from my dad, Purple boots/Wet Seal, Tights/Dollar Store, Pink Watch/Walmart. Wow...you can tell from this outfit that I'm SUCH a spender!...Walmart, dollar store, stealing from my family! :) Niiiice.

advanced placement

Today was about comfort, ease, and something warm enough to battle the library's goosebump-invoking air conditioner. Seriously...it SNOWED today and we had the air conditioner on? What?

Today...was the AP test.

I've been in AP English all year, absorbing every word, allusion, and bit of syntax in everything classic lit. The Scarlet Letter, Moby Dick, All the Pretty Horses, The Crucible, Anne Frank, everything, and now it's sadly, finally, coming to culmination. Fifty-five multiple choice questions, three free-response essays; four hours of hand cramps. This sounds weird, like I'm into medieval torture or something, but it was SO worth it. I'm definitely excited to see how I fared against the Advanced Placement poetry, antithesis, and dangling participles...wish me LUCK.

Going shopping Saturday. Neeeeed retail therapy. And to people-watch with an original Orange Julius in my hand. The best kind of therapy.

Perfume Obsessions, (Left to Right..): Victoria's Secret, Pure Seduction. Strawberry Daquiri. American Girl's Strawberries and Creme. Yes...I sense a theme...a scent theme. :)

Wearing: Black cardigan/Old Navy. Black double-headband/Total steal from the dollar store. Tie die tank/Nordstrom. Jeans/Paris Blues. Necklace/Mexican silver from Arizona gifted from Trev...

ahhh yes...my new obsession. bright pink digital watch - walmart...$7.50 WITH a stopwatch and alarm.
that's rad.

go to tahiti

Went shopping this Saturday; complete with an Orange Julius and the new 'Nightmare on Elm Street' horror.  Probably still running on stretched wits and adrenaline from the movie, found myself astounded at the cooool jewlery at Old Navy! Whenever that store is mentioned, all I used to think of were matchy-matchy polos of every color and the classic flip flop. But NOW, its definitely one of my new destinations for very cool-very tribal/ballet/gold/beaded/chained/pearl/bright/glass jewels and bangles and earrings.

Gotta have it all. Check it out here.
