necessary transition

(Maybe a magenta-coffee-and-cream color scheme for my room?)
(Featured: (R-L) Dutch Boy paint colors in Jazz, Mocha Au Lait, Yummy Nougat, and Crushed Berries.)
I'm sensing a food-theme...

Totally embracing summer --> fall neutrals. Transition clothes are making their debut in my closet more than ever before, especially as we experience weather that varies by ten or twenty degrees daily. Shorts one day, overalls and a rainjacket the next. There's just no predicting.

WHO's getting ready for school? Back to hitting the books?

Thanks for the love, ladies! I've gotten SO much inspiration from checking out all your sites'!

This week got pretty busy; cheer practice, royalty practice, work, having fun in general, that I haven't posted much. But yeah - I'll get back on it. :) MY CAMERA CAME! Hell yeah. Its pink and lovely.

color renovation/inspiration

I'm covered in white primer right now; there's even a white streak of paint running through my bangs from a
lil' brush-slip.  The process truly began by ripping every magazine cutout and clipping from my 70's-paneled walls. Then I wanted to clean. Then I wanted to paint.

So here we are today...still flipping through paint chips and looking for some inspiration.

My Favorites: Include a warm color like orange, scarlet, burgundy, wine, or deep gold.
Have unique details like a zebra-print throw pillow or framed pops of color.
I have a damn nice window, so it would be nice to have a cool window treatment.
On the other hand, thank goodness for that mongo-window because I don't have a light other than a reading lamp. (I threw a bouncy ball up to the ceiling while on the phone once...end of story and end of light..:) :)

P.S...my camera is still broken...AMAZON to the rescue.
A pink Slim Sharp should be shipped any day now...
(Love this for a conversation room that blends elegant and ecletic)

finally finallyl!

So we've FINALLY reached giveaway-time, ladies and gentlemen! I'm so excited...I'm always so pumped for other blogger's giveaways and celebrations, and now it's my turn! :)

I'm not usually all that into big "themes" for celebrations, but this one totally came together on its own. Anybody into Starbucks? :) I thought so.  To commemorate getting 20 fabulous followers, I'm giving away a ceramic Starbucks mug (featured above), a great wallet of your choice, a $5 Starbucks giftcard, and a pack of Silly Bandz...mostly because I'm obsessed with them. They are just so damn cool.

All you have to do:
1. Become a follower of Flower Pony* and let me know in a comment, along with an email address to notify you. Also, pick the wallet you'd rather recieve: Black or Orange.
2.  For Chictopia users: Friend me on Chictopia and let me know in a comment.
3. Let me know about your fave Flower Pony* post in a comment below!
***Don't forget to state which wallet you'd prefer! Black with peace signs, or orange with polka dot fabric on the inside!

That's it! Plain and simple! You can get up to three entries in until August 26th!
Good luck, and THANKS for the lovin'! I can't wait to plan another cele-giveaway for 30 followers!

rawr, baby!

$7
I've loved this bag ever since it was given to me by an extremely fabulous woman. But, my collection is just growing to damn big to be contained in the small bookcase I've devoted to purses..(ok, and the shelf in my closet AND the third and fourth drawers in my dresser. All purses. It's truly blissful.)

This has a classically corporate shape, but totally playful print. Front pocket clasps with a magnet snap.
Two distinct inside pockets seperated by a middle divider, 2 change purses, and 1 zipper pocket on the opposite side. Perfect to organize paperwork, and large enough to bring essentials on a plane as a carry-on.
Approx. 10" strap, allowing comfortable carrying on the shoulder.
Height: 9 1/2"  Length: 13"

Add a pop of print to any outfit to make it Fall Fashion-ready. LOVE IT! :)

searching for the shoes

So it's final; my camera is broken down for real.  And apparently, due to the fact that it's a FUJI, there arn't any replacement parts available on the market. Well, at least that's what the nice guy at the camera shop said. I believe it, but still...I'm in SHOCK that my fave camera is lost to the deep realm of...of....broken things. I'm now stuck with this blurry camera that came out as one of the first digital cameras. The screen on my PHONE is larger and has a clearer picture than that of the camera! Ridiculous..kinda sad.

School shopping today, just some casual browsing around and finding some things to satisfy both comfort and style. University is mostly about comfort; sitting through hour-long lecture (in grody-squeaky-uncomfy chairs), but also looking chic enough to have that fab sense of self-confidance. You know that balance I'm talkin' about? That whole, "I'm here, I'm looking good, and I'm sooo about to ace that damn Final." :) Yes...that's the feeling.

Right now, throughout all the shopping, I'm looking for the perfect pair of shoes. Something sensible. Close-toed. Slight-to-medium heel. Comfortable. Casual/nice. I can't really describe IT any further, seeing as I don't know exactly what THEY are, but I will find them!

What are YOUR perfect shoes for this season?

I absolutely fell in love with this spread of Mary Kate in Marie Claire.

I wanna absolutely drool over all season long.
Author Kimberly Cutter penned it perfectly, she's the epitome of "bohemian businesswoman."

opening day

new fav ring from F21.

Today was one of those days where comfort totally takes over. Leggings, a loose white shirt, simple leather belt and sandals....perfect. I've been really pumped about starting up this online store for a while now, today was a day of finalizing items to be sold and getting the snapshots of them.

With the occassional break for a tapioca pudding and an iced coffee of course...:) Mmmm. Gotta have comfort food, dammit! No matter how stressed.  The fields around my house are turning and beautiful for blog pictures!

Check out the new store! Tell me what you think! And don't forget about the giveaway once I reach 20 Followers! I'm super-excited about that too...so many great things are happening this month!

plans/inspiration

I'm a big fan of "Following" the blogs I love; not only to show support to those I find fashionable and fascinating but also to get their updates zapped directly into my Dashboard for when it comes to searching for inspiration.

That's why, for the FIRST time eva', I'm planning a GIVEAWAY! I've always found blogger giveaways fascinating too! So....it's time, dear friends, for me to start a little shin-dig of my own.

Once I reach 20 followers, I'm planning something fun! A little giftset of random-ocities. Maybe a little bit of some of my handmade work, maybe some crafty-crafts. Either way, I only need 4 more fans!

Thanks for the support everyone! I'm crazy-excited about this...I love new things.
Wearing: Shift dress/Forever21. Hat/Walmart. Heels/Vintage Brazilian Jacqueline. Necklaces/Self-made.

thank god for vogue and blogspot

Fresh carrots, picked today. One of the best and freshest flavors in the world to me.

For some reason, I feel as though I have a confession to make. This thought really came to me while I was working in the garden today. That truly is what sparked it; that I was actually working in a garden. Most of my posts are all about my adventures in the city, things I've purchased and loooved, things I've sewn myself, things I've enjoyed at resturants and the continual rants about sushi cravings-sushi-sushi. Mmmm..that actually sounds good right now.

But really, I live in a small town. Small being a population lower than 150, (including family pets).  I go to a small school. Small being a student body smaller than 80, (and yes, it's a public school...and that count includes grades preschool through senior in high school).  I don't live a life anywhere close to that of the photo shoot maven Farrah from Degaine, or the amazing  Emily from cupcakes and cashmere, or have the incredible talent for photography like up-and-comer Aurora Vintage. (Gaaahh I d.i.e over her work).

So. That's really all I have to say. This post is dedicated to all those farm girls out there who love fashion, are passionate about fashion, but don't within an hour of a shopping mall, let alone downtown NYC.

This patchy patch of dirty and weeds really is beautiful to me...I love it.
From carrots to carrot-cake cupcakes...they were pretty damn good..mmmm.

house of dreams

I never knew mobil homes could be so completely enlightening...(or have this kind of amazingly amazing closet!)  And you can ask almost anyone, this big of a closet is just begging for more shopping to be done to FILL it up! :) Right?

We were driving down Sprague Ave. in Spokane just last night when we saw this lot filled with brand-spankin' new display homes. One level homes, but brand new and full of that "new car smell" just the same. My favorite was a blend of the 'Villa', (pictured below), and the 'Mansion', just because of the enormous closet! I seriously D.I.E...I can't even spread my arms to reach both sides!  Just image...full shelving for purses, 5 different racks for jackets, jeans, tops, ect, and tons of space for a personal fashion show. Love it.

Wearing: Flare Jeans/Chip&Pepper. Dr.Doom tee/Nick's closet. Silver sandals/Payless. Cardi/The Limited.

The kitchen of the 'Villa' was incredible....

One of my purchases yesterday: Some $7.99 "Keds"..:)
