I truly hope everyone had a wonderfully and absolutely *amazing* holiday! I sure did! To just be with family, laughing and enjoying eachother's company, to be happy without stress or work. Love it. That is simply the best way to recharge my batteries! And of course, there were the constant sugary comfort of cookies. Gosh, I so love me some cookies. Mmmmm. :) What are your favorite holiday treats?

To get out of the house for awhile, (and away from some of the prevailing leftovers), some of the fam and I went out to Moscow for some fabulous Mexican food and to take a good gander at some local guitar stores and used book stores. Two of my favorite things! :) Super great day. No outfit post, (meh' trusty photog is home with his family), but I did snap some random shots of the holiday cheer. If you can picture me boppin' around in hot pink corduroy pants, stripey tank top, a denim jacket and some Keds, that image is just about as good as an outfit post.

Who has plans for New Year's Eve? Any fun cocktail parties? Movie nights? Fondue to celebrate? A big bowl of chocolate fondue was once the tradition in my family's household. Apples, bananas, grapes, graham crackers, marshmallows, the works! So good! After munching, we'd spend the remaining time until midnight thinking about what others foods we could dip in chocolate for the next year. (Potato chips, oh yeah!) I've been brainstorming on some fun resolutions for the past week, - expect more on that soon!

Hoping everyone is having a great weekend so far! I'm finally at home with my parents, blogging from the comfort of my family's comfy-comfy couch. :) Now that I'm finally done with my first semester here at University, (not counting my first 2 full years at a community college), all I can think about are tattoos tattoos tattoos! My spare time has been taken equally by trips to the gym, (more on fun and healthy resolutions later), roller derby practice, and looking up tattoo inspiration on the internet.

I feel like I should reward myself for a semester well done with some new ink, don't you agree? (Or am I just making an excuse to feed my love for tattoos?!) Either way, I want another. There's this amazing shop right here in downtown Moscow called Untamed Art, and I definitely want to go there. Nick had a great experience and the shop is simply beyond cool. I'm thinking of focusing on sugar skull-inspired designs in a simple area, like my side, because I'm not going to be able to take the time off roller derby to get my pre-planned tattoo on the tops of both feet. Let's chat inspiration! If you have a tattoo, what is it? What kind of tattoos do you like?

The weather here is so fickle. Today, with only 9 days until Christmas, I'm wearing a simple long sleeved t-shirt and no jacket and that bright sun is a'shining! Hmmm, doesn't quite feel like the holidays without a white snow-covered Christmas.

I am officially done with my first semester here at University of Idaho, (as of 8:35pm last night), woo hoo! And right now, as you can probably expect, I'm chillin' in my pajamas with the first season of Glee and unlimited cups of hot pepperminty coffee. It's going to be a good day, I can feel it already.

These photos were taken outside the famous UI Kibbie Dome. It's well...very unique. :) Search "Kibbie Dome" in Google Images and you'll see what I mean. But there's the gorgeous barn over the hill that I love, and that's why Nick and I hopped in the car to do a photoshoot somewhere other than our little jungle next to our apartment.

Do some of you have trouble finding great settings for photoshoots? I definitely do. I don't live in a large "city" by any means, so those fantastic busy-street based shots a la Fashiontoast or Song of Style always turn out weird. Nick and I once tried to be clever and attempt a photoshoot on a sidewalk downtown - we ended up capturing the weirdest things! A Safeway truck speeding through the background, a dog perched on top of a cooler or something in the back of a pickup, (so he looked like a crazy 9-foot tall pup), and tons of other random and ridiculous things. We couldn't even shoot because we were laughing so hard! What are some of your go-to places to shoot?

Whew! The excitement of this week simply isn't ending! I recieved the newest Michael Bublé Christmas CD from my favorite mister on Friday, (the neighbors really aren't going to appreciate my singing in the shower because of this CD. I'm a total sucker for great jazz/Sinatra/Bing inspired tunes!) I had a wonderful day with my mum today, the new store is launching tonight, and I'll be done with school for the semester on Tuesday! Woohoo! *disco dance!*

How is your week going so far?

I truly must apologize for my lack of -anything- throughout the past 5 days. (Wow! Was it really five days?!) Sheesh! My brain has been utterly connected to both my Journalism and Spanish textbooks. Study study study! That's exactly why my mom forced me out of my apartment and into the fresh air, (forced me by wonderful bribery, coffee-bribery of course!). :) It was a nice change of pace to bop around Safeway, and much needed. Tonight around 8:30pm or so I'll be headed down to Nick's workplace for a special 'friends and family sale'. Then back to the books! I even skipped two gym-trips and a derby practice for this studying business. (Better pay off!)

Who's making vacation plans for this holiday season? I'm going to imagine myself on a nice, warm, sandy beach. I can dream, right? :)

Well, be expecting a better post tomorrow, dearies! But here are a few good 'tunez' I've been bopping my head to while studying. Especially Band of Skulls! Discovered one of their songs on Guitar Hero and have loved ever since. Let me know what you think! xoxooo

Happy Monday, everyone!

Hopefully there was lots of love and coffee to fill up everyone's weekends. Or tea if you're like my mister, Nick. :) I know there was definitely enough coffee to fulfill my weekend needs! I went to a great little coffee shop on Main, and let me tell you, it just has the best "coffee shop" vibe to it. You know what I mean? Books stacked high on old maple shelves, big tables covered with students' notes, laptops, and tons of small alcoves and comfy couches perfect for reading or sipping a holiday drink. It's definitely one of my top favorite places to study now!

I'm absolutely in love with this dress from Ross, one of my favorite go-to places for dresses on the cheap cheap cheap! I originally purchased it for a Sunday-night holiday party with Nick's company, but ended up wearing it again today as well. Still clean, I swear! :) It has the most comfortable bell sleeves and a slightly elastic-y waist to bring it all in and keep it from just looking like a black burlap sack. Love it! I'll definitely be wearing it again as the holidays come closer and closer!

Good luck to everyone studying for finals! Whew! Semester is almost over! I need to be hitting the books right now. :)

Happy weekend, everyone! Ahhhh, it's *finally* Saturday! Today is the day to completely conquer my mile-long To Do list and kick it to the curb! *Yeah, whutt!* :) Here's a lil' bit of what I'll be up to today:

- Start with a shower. Yes. I'm still in my pajamas as I write this right now. And it feels awesome.
- Do the dishes. Scrub-a-dub-dub from last night's veggie stir-fry!
- Meet my friend Monica at Bucer's Coffee shop to practice our oral Spanish final! (Can't wait to try one of their handcrafted holiday drinks!)

- Hopefully be home in time to have lunch with Nick.

- Construct my credit load for this summer term to complete my minor in Art History.

- Keep on looking for jobs. (Will hopefully finish 2+ applications today!)

- Spend some time studying in the POLYA Lab, (a fancy name for our Math Lab).

- Laundry Laundry Laundry!

- Complete extra credit assignments for Spanish to turn in on Monday.

- Tabata Inferno DVD from the Supreme 90 Day program. (I'll have to review the system soon!)

- Try out layouts/designs for business cards.

- Derby Party at 6:30.

I still can't believe it, I have red hair! Ahhhh!

I walked out of the salon not even an hour ago and surprised Nick with it when he picked me up after work. I'm so incredibly shocked that he loved it as much as I did! I've been naturally blonde since birth, (except for a brief stage of teal, magenta, and plum-purple streaks), and the untouched blonde locks are almost like my trademark. But now they're *gone!* SO excited, yet still kind of in shock! I literally just saw an older picture of Emma Stone, loved it, and walked into the Regis Salon 10 minutes from my apartment! Random, much?

I guess this week has been some kind of unofficial "Spontaneous Week"! From yesterday's random thrifting bust to a walk-in salon appointment, let's see what tomorrow brings.

My mom and sister are meeting me for coffee and a trip to Michaels for craft supplies, and they have no idea I dyed my hair. Let's hope they like it! :)

Ok, wow, what a day this has been!

Started off the morning by waking up a bit late, 7:15, versus my usual 6:45, and ended up paying for it. Good thing those old Steve Madden boots can hold up to a little joggin'! (To class to make it on time). :)

After a completely blissful Spanish 2 class, my English 2 teach' decided to let us out after half an hour. ~~Score!~~ Total score! So Nick and I celebrated with a trip to Pullman to the brand new Thomas Hammer coffee shop That coffee shop was designed perfectly, totally made me want to open a coffee shop/café/pastry-filled/design major and blogger's paradise. Love. It. Have you ever simply walked into a place like and just felt, entirely and aesthetically, at home?

So, quite spontaneously, Nick and I decide to go on a thrifting spree. And by that, I mean we just up and drove 45 minutes to Lewiston in search of Goodwills and Salvation Army stores. Really spontaneous, even for us! We drove and drove and drove and drove....

And found none. What is with that?! After walking Main Street with addresses in hand, we still managed to come home without having seen a single thrift store. Wasn't in the cards, I guess. BUT. We did find 3 new tattoo shops! New places to get some ink! And some great scenery to take some outfit shots.

Hit Safeway for some veggies and mandarin sauce, and made dinner. A simple veggie stir-fry with Captain Crunch for dessert, and now we're on the couch watching From Paris With Love with John Travolta. (Fun random fact about me, Travolta was without a doubt my first crush, from 'Grease' of course! It was all I watched in kindergarten!) Fun evening! Except for homework. Ugh. I should probably get to that.

Back to school tomorrow! I simply can't believe that Thanksgiving Break has gone by so quickly! Every day this week has been a whirlwind of crafting, blogging, spending time with Nick, setting up the flower shoppe*, thinking about holiday gifts for my family, and studying for finals...~~well, kinda studying for finals~~. :) How has your holiday weekend been?

I'm pretty much in love with this red sweater, and have been wearing it for the past 3 days straight. It will get washed tomorrow, I promise! I have some hygiene! But I'm pretty much head over heels for it. I couldn't sleep one night, (probably after consuming a bit too much sugar or coffee), and while my mind was racing through my To-Do list to make in the morning, the most random idea popped into my head: Sewing felt sharks onto a sweater! The next day I found this 5+ year old cardi in the depths of my closet, bought some grey felt, and there you have it - the inspiration behind the shark cardi! They look more like fat fishes in the pictures, but in real life, they're just bursting with "shark-ocity."

I'll soon be adding holiday items to the shoppe*! Can't wait to start making gifts for family members! More on that another time.

Uhmm, burr! It has been *such* an incredibly chilly weekend! It feels like I've been wrapped up in my warmest coat, scarf and gloves since the middle of October. I'm surprised Nick succeeded in persuading me to do a quick photoshoot outside without a coat on! (Hence my ridiculous 'I'm cold, I'm cold, I'm cold' face in the second shot). I miss Autumn already!

Today has been dedicated to Thanksgiving preparation. Packing our overnight bags, baking pies, sewing cute felt shapes onto holiday cardigans, (like sharks with Santa hats!), and trying to refrain from splurging on Black Friday (~~week~~) deals. Most notably Old Navy and Hot Topic - it's so tempting! I'll be honest, I've never officially gone Black Friday "real" shopping; up at the crack of dawn, waiting to bust into a big box store, but I do find it interesting.

Cut my hair on Sunday right about 10 minutes after my last post. I'm still in that phase, whenever I look in the mirror I'm a litle bit shocked. But for now introducing the alphabet series. The next 26, erm...I mean 25, days of outfits are semi planned out.

The long awaited Thomas Hammer is finally finished in Pullman. A new place to hang out, sit at the extending 'laptop bar', or just get a chai. Plus, there's a rad consignment shop right next door. Caffeine fix next to a shop bursting with vintage couches and sweaters galore? Match. Made. In. Heaven.

Getting some serious inspiration from this new environment. Moscow, Idaho may not seem like much, (especially after traveling to LA and San Fran this year and seeing their overwhelmingly sparkly sidewalks and jaw-dropping skylines, respectively), but its been incredible. My life is so very...here...right now. As cheesy as that sounds. Right now I'm sitting in a rad little coffee shop, sipping the best white chocolate americano (ever) out of a huge frosted beer mug bigger than one hand can even pick up, and best of all - listening to my boyfriend avidly play with that iGUN app on my ipod.

This is better than Christmas. :)

Running, wearing a derby helmet, and pool workouts are certainly doing a number on my hair - I've definitely been looking more frazzly and style-confused than I usually do. After running some errands, hitting a used book store, (and maybe stopping in at a quaint new coffee shoppe downtown), my locks will need to have some delicious one-on-one time with a Garnier deep conditioning session....mmmm.

These wedges are from Lulu's via the Bamboo wedge line and I'm pretty sure I may just die for them.

Ho ho hum! Beautiful day today!

Painted my nails (again), got an iced coffee, made some pita and tortilla chippies, and really enjoyed the day. I've lagged on some outift posts due to a nasty bit of road rash on my leg...you can kind of tell in the second picture, but I tried to cover most of it up. Not pretty. Itchy scab. Enough said.

Ahhh, it's Friday....finally. It is still absolutely baffling to me that it's the 2nd weekend in June and we have yet to have a scorching day...yet to have much summer at all. Everything appears just grey-grey-grey. The only way to see some colour is in the hills...and your wardrobe.

Nick and I finally remembered to pull the car over at this secluded rail track stopoff. It's

one of those places...those places that you see often but never really take time to investigate.

My main lame excuse reason was the fact that I was trying to devote my time to my senior thesis business...a high school project that revolves completely around me and my childhood. A fourty-five minute narcissist celebration, basically. After working on the project for 4 hours-ish a day, I was pretty damn tired of looking at myself.

Now that I'm feeling uuber-guilty about lagging on this blog for so long, I'm at a total loss of what to say. What to post. What to even do. So...I'll start with some inspiration shots...and try to be cooler tomorrow.

- And lastly, the 6 hours gave me time to catch up on some mags.

Man, what an eventful night. Prom prom prom...the majority of the night basically feels like a "how-to" on life after high school. Thrifting gold today, I tell you. Thrifting gold! There must be more to those random little thrifty places - the ones that almost seem creepy and have an odd odor overall: they seem to have the best stuff. Weird. Got some goodies for under 10 bucks. A chartreuse maxi, (always wanted something 'chartreuse'), and a totally 80's denim jacket. Went to the World Market...(jawdropping collection of pastel-coloured marshmallows, zillions of Haribo gummies, and shiny booze bottles fit for a king - or sparkly fairy princess). I can't resist drooling over the Nutella-blends! Vanilla + Nutella must be genius....

Ok...must study for finals now. I feel like an uuber-nerd studying for finals a week early, but this weekend is going to be, erm, full. xoxoxoxoxo

- Found the most perfect of perfect unicorn pendants at forever 21

- Morrocan feast at Marrakesh...I'm a total convert...loooved it!

- Watched the news...has anybody elses' heart beat increased by a tenfold after seeing what's happening in Japan? Does anybody else get a little clammy, a little choked up, a nervous feeling spreading throughout your entire body? Just this feeling of helplessness, - for them, but also for yourself because there's so much you want to do, so many you want to help, but you just can't by yourself...

The last thing I did:

- Prayed. Just prayed for them.

- Even if there's no other way we can help, nothing else we can do from where we are...we can pray.

Adventures are turning up in the most random places, - whether it's raiding Starbucks for those free 'cake-pop' things, dancing in the living room to 50's Swing King tunes, or scouring F21 in search of the perfect felt hat, (and finding it!), everything has just gone so....so...just so SWELL this weekend. I just bought the most perfect flippy floral skirt and we're out for Indian food tomorrow with some friends.

In unrelated news, I'm searching for the perfect way to tailor these horrid black stretchy slack-pants. You know the type? Like, polyester's best friend-sort of material, with a high waist. Maybe a bit skinnier around the ankles? I was thinking about pulling in the end seams around the ankles and fastening with those vintage shoe-clips. Yes...I may still do that.

Any tailoring suggestions?

So....I'm offially going to Hollywood! Our newspaper staff at the Uni is attending the National Associated College Press Convention thang this weekend over in Tinseltown. But...I have to admit, I've never been on a plane. Eeep! Packing? Getting 4 days of outfits in a bag? I've always been terrible at narrowing down the options in order to FIT them into the luggage. Any tips, tricks, or advice?? I'm going to have to strategize in order to get that beastie of a suitcase in my mini-car. :))

Today was simply epic....just simply an epically amazing experience that will continue to resonate in my mind forever. (And man, do I love blogging...how else could I get away with a wacked sentance like that one?) Anyways...went to the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration in my home city...and lemme' tell you....it was incredible. A local pastor recited the everlasting "I Have a Dream" speech.....he was so passionate, tears were brought to his eyes. Everyone there, (around 500-700 people), marched through downtown...together.

I swear, I "change" at least once a week....new styles, new trends, so many new things to try! (One of them, fyi, is the ahhhhazingly incredible combination of caramel popcorn and breakfast cereal....seriously...how have I been living without that necessary burst of raw sugar and toffee for so long?) I've been stocking up...my dentist bill will suuuuck. But so worth it!

A new quarter at the universidad has begun....a new set of classes and a change of scenery. The campus was decently pretty in the Autumn-ish light...now, it's grey-gray-grey. Ick.

I'm craving colour, pattern, and florals right here- right now. I need them to get thru the dark days. I found some of my Aunt's craaazy shoulder-padded shirt dresses and oversize knit sweaters from my garage. Let's just say.....they WILL make a reappearance, *without shoulder pads.....:)

It is quite possibly my favorite time of year. It's beautiful...everything is lit up, spruced up, decorated up, and people are in such good moods. I could do without the mall-rushes; the crowds sometimes freak me out. But it's wonderful, all in all, it's absolutely wonderful. Vacation from school is dang fine too. :)

I want to make this feeling last all year. Well..one thing I DO know, these sweater tights from Merona will keep me warm and toasty even thu our chilly spring season. Mmmhmmm. I love them. Gracias, my dear Target store. :)

This is kinda lame for my first Christmas post...but hell, they're cookies. It IS time for decadence, deliciousness, and licking clean our chocolate-covered fingers. :) :) Mmmm.

My boyf is beyond obsessed with these crunchy, chocolaty peanut butter balls. - Seriously, these made a debut last year at Christmas and he hasn't stopped talking about them. (I should make them more often...give him a treatie; a treatie for my sweetie!) Ha..as you can probably tell - it's been a very long day of food, drink, and Scrabble-a-thons. Family time is the best. :) But it can leave my brain fried.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls (Pure HEAVEN!)

2 c. peanut butter 2 c. powdered sugar

4 tablespoons soft butter 6 c. Rice Krispies cereal

1 large bag chocolate chips 1/4 cake paraffin

Mix peanut butter, powdered sugar, soft butter, and Rice Krispies all together. Form into little bite-sized balls and place on wax-paper.

Melt the chocolate chips and cake paraffin. Careful! Don't let it burn, or else it will taste like major caca.

Dip the PB balls, or drizzle over as pictured!

ENJOY!

Today was ahhhmazing and so badly needed. I finally got to spend a day with the ol' boyf. :) :) Well, he's not old, but it just seems that I never get to truly just chilllll with him; I'm such a bloody workaholic and always cheerleading, studying, running around doing various tasks with a coffee in hand. blahh blahh blahh. The same gig, different day.

But TODAY was great! Started off with church. He's a drummer for the worship band. Then off to the city to do some Christmas shoppin'. After eating some freekin' amazing bagels at Moscow Bagel & Deli. Seriously, if you haven't accepted the bagel sandwich into your life, you're in need of a reality check. Gosh, I had a 'Palouse' just hours ago....I could go for another one. :) Mmmm. And I've never ever been real big on "sammiches," they're just not appealing, really. But GOSH, this is so good!

I'm in love with Moscow. This little Idahoan town with so much personality. (And a badass selection of guitars between the two music stores...mmmhmmmm, girrrl!). I was just accepted into U of I, but I'm just not sure if it's the right choice. I've been dreaming of U of W, (*Go Huskies*), for as long as I can remember....but....oh gosh. I'm so torn. I'm probably going to need to vent about this in upcoming posts, so...get ready for that. :)

Oh my gosh. Pancakes are the bomb. I must admit - I enjoy pancakes MUCH more at dinner time, rather than the traditional brekkie. Dottie put 'American Pancakes' as her #1, and after drooling, I knew I had to do the same.

He is just honestly, seriously, and absolutely my favorite designer. Oh, the shoes! Oh, the handbags! And just today, while browsing for Gucci jewery to give as Christmas pressies, I laid eyes upon the most amazing (fauxy) reptile clutch. Ahhmazing. He knocks my socks off. And my luscious platforms.

My phone-baby: the Verizon Razzle. I picked it out online only because it was free, but it totally surprised me in its awesome-ness. Spinny. Sparkly. Full keyboard. Mp3 capabilities, as well as a pretty good camera. LOVE. IT.

She is just amazing. Punky. Blonde. Red. Black. Brown. Everything works on her! I was in love with her first album, Pieces of Me. Totally spoke to my teenage-rebellion-teal hair years. :) :) And her husband isn't half bad looking either...:)

Mmmmm....I haven't done a FOOD pony* post for quite a while.

Today was the perfect day to cover the counters, (and floors), with melted java-chocolate and cream cheese glaze. :) That annoying orange cat we have actually quite enjoyed cleaning the floor for me...

We always get these enormous bags of plain animal crackers from WinCo. Seriously, almost a 10-lb. bag. I've never, in my life, witnessed our family finish the bag without throwing half of it away, so I decided to jazz em' up a bit. Possibly practicing for holiday gifties? Or little after-supper snacklets? We'll see...

All you need: Animal crackers. Betty Crocker Cream Cheese Frosting. Red food coloring. Extra Dark chocolate chips. White chocolate chips. Coffee grounds. Microwave.

I'll be honest, I'm a total lazy-daisy when it comes to heating up chocolate. In a coffee mug, mix about 25 dark chips with 25 white chips, a teaspoon of vanilla, and pop it in the microwave. Stir it around every once in a while, and sprinkle two pinches of coffee grounds over the melted mixture. When the chocolate is good and melty, drizzle over animal crackers. They look like little milk cows. :) '

As for the cream cheese glaze, simply scoop a good gob of Betty's frosting into another coffee mug. Microwave until you hear a bit of bubbling and sizzling, then stir and quickly drizzle. (The frosting sets up into hardness muuuuch faster than teh chocolate - beware, and drizzle speedy!). :)

That's it! Relax, dip some in tea, and admire your 10-minute creation.

It's November....and sunny....but freezing. GAH! But other than that, the weather has been ahhhmazing. These are officially dubbed the Catwoman boots, rawr! I've gotten a lot of comments about em'. But what I really love about this outift is the LIPCOLOR. *Sigh...I'm in love with it.

Okay. I must be honest. I'm totally lacking in blog-worthy photo shoots. HOPEFULLY, one will come later today....but boyf has been down in Louisiana, (a REALLY long ways away from Spokane!), and he's my favorite photog. :) But he's BAACK! So...hopefully the photoshoots will continue.

This is kind of weird - I think I'm having a psychic moment. Just had a Twitter-fest for my love of fall military colors, (khaki and olive, especially), and the BAM! Express to the rescue!
